Testimonials

Dan Starks is the most professional, ethical, and knowledgeable person I have ever met, in the Self-defense and Concealed Carry area. He educates his clients on the laws, realities, and the responsibility of carrying a handgun. Beyond that he provides a seasonal prospective on real world situations in which anyone may find themselves at any time.

I have had the good fortune to attend [his] CCH class twice, and enrolled all 3 of my daughters, and attended myself, in his Campus Safety Class.

The valuable knowledge that he generously provides is so relevant to today’s world, that I am so thankful to he and Connie, as well as his incredible crew of well-trained instructors for the proper instruction and training that they provide to their clients.

Do not hesitate to sign up for one of his courses. There is no better investment in your own safety and well-being.

I have been through 2 CCH classes with Dan, and he is THE EXPERT. I hope never to need his immediate help, he is clearly in my contact list for speed-dial, should I need his immediate attention.

I cannot give strong enough recommendation for Dan Starks. He is the most knowledgeable person in his field. I have known Dan for many years and you can find no better person for Safety Training and Awareness classes.

I may even owe him my life because of a product he uses and recommended to me. A special type of pepper foam that absolutely stopped and repelled a 230 pound attacker. Thanks Dan!

I want to thank you for the excellent job you did with my granddaughter and her friend. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked the appointment as I had found you with a Goggle search. You exceeded my expectations and the girls were thrilled with the hands on and the background that you provided. I feel so much better about them going to college this coming year and know that I have equipped them to the best of my ability to deal with any unexpected circumstances that may arise. I even learned some things this grandmother didn’t know and feel so much more confident 24 hours later when at the mall and running errands on my own. This is a course that would benefit not only girls going to college but their mothers and grandmothers. Thank you again for the service you provide and I can’t say enough good about it.

Trust me, Dan Starks is the BEST at what he does! All CCH instructors are NOT created equal!

In my 50 years of life, I have accummulated quite a few degrees, certificates, awards and other assorted pieces of paper but this one is probably the one of which I am the proudest. It only took about 8 hours to get but it means a lot in terms of its importance and value. It will help me keep my family safe and it serves as a reminder of my roots growing up in a family where guns were part of our everyday life and, more importantly, the education we received before even touching a gun for the first time. For my family, that education was and is part of becoming a responsible man. I am particularly proud of my qualifying scores: A decent 92% accuracy shooting a revolver (S&W .38 Airweight) and 100% accuracy shooting a 9 mm Springfield XD Model 2 pistol.

Many thanks to my friend for recommending I take the class with my new friend Dan Starks and thank you to Dan, his wife Connie and their staff for a great day filled with valuable information, camaraderie and friendship. If you are considering taking this class, contact Dan.

I am so pleased with the experience I had while taking STI’s concealed carry class. Being a full-time mom, I wanted to feel more confident in protecting myself as well as my family. I had never used a firearm prior to taking this course. The instructors are not only highly knowledgable but also treat each student with utmost respect. I have recommended STI’s courses to several people and they are all as satisfied as I was.

Thank you for your time today I enjoyed meeting you and I learned a lot.
As I related to you at the range, I feel very strongly about my family and my duty to protect them.

Five years ago my wife and I took your concealed carry class. We both learned a tremendous amount of information and you and your team did a great job of teaching us the law and the basics of gun safety. [My wife] even signed up and took the other course on using the pepper spray and the key chain spike.

My wife and I attended the NCCH class sponsored by STI at Hyatt Gun Shop,Charlotte, NC on October 13,2012. It was truly an eye opening experience. Although our goal was to qualify legally in NC to carry a concealed firearm, the class offered so much more. We learned the laws, law enforcement, and personal responsibility. It is truly a privilege to exercise our second amendment rights. Dan and his team covered everything a law abiding citizen needs to know about armed protection.

Most impressive is that Dan shares the passion of his heart in the telling of his experiences. He does not sugar coat the issue of crime with the real and often unnoticed threat to the everyday person. To some this may seem like a pessimistic view. The truth is that crime and our reaction to it may be the difference between life and death.

My wife and I count it an honor and a blessing to meet Dan Starks and his team. He truly cares for the rights of citizens to be able to defend themselves. We plan to tell everyone we know about Starks Training Institute. The cost is minimal in comparison to the power of the knowledge obtained.

Continued prosperity and excellent health Dan and Connie.

God Bless You.

Dear Mr. Starks,

Today I participated in your carry conceal class and I just wanted to let you know that your kindness was greatly appreciated.
You told me the story of the very wealthy lady that took your class and was so scared she hide in her car.

The circumstances that brought me to your class today are a little different. I grew up as the daughter of a career Army man, who retired after 32 years of service. Guns were always around.

On December 26, 2008 aftger learning the day before Christmas he had stage 4 bone cancer, my father woke up at 7:15 took his glock and shot himself in the head.

The only one in the family that could at the time, I ended up being the one that took care of his estate. I asked a Faetteville Detective that was a long time friend of the family to run all of the weapons to make sure they were clean. I told him he could keep all the guns but my fathers Baretta. I had not picked up a weapon since that day.

I’m not sure what made me sit down beside you while waiting my turn out of the range and I am not sure why you told me the story about the wealth lady that was scared, but I do know that each time I heard a round go off today I thought I was going to break down.

But for some reason having heard the funny story about the scared wealth lady and hearing you say that you told her that you were going to get her through it calmed me down.

Thank you for your genuine spirit, your kind nature and your empathy. You truly helped me face a demon that I did not even know I had until today. My fathers Baretta is being cleaned at Hyatt so I will be back on the range practicing.

Thank you for what you do and for who you are.
