Dan Starks offers North Carolina’s premier concealed carry course at Hyatt Gun Shop’s retail location in Charlotte, NC. Taught by personal safety expert and Emmy-winning TV personality Dan Starks, the all-day course will prepare you to get your North Carolina concealed carry permit.
Who is Eligible?
The North Carolina Concealed Carry Class is open to U.S. Citizens or has individuals who have been admitted for permanent residence as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20). In addition, you must be a resident of North Carolina for at least 30 days; you cannot have a mental or physical infirmity that prevents you from safely handling a handgun; you have not been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment more than one year; you are not an unlawful user of drugs, or any other controlled substance; and you cannot have been discharged from the military under dishonorable conditions.

- Working with the police
There will be range time involved in order to qualify for the permit. Ownership of a firearm is NOT required. You may use a firearm provided by STI, as we have a large inventory to choose from. You will, however, need to provide your own ear protection, eye protection, and ammunition, all of which can be purchased online or in the store on the day of the class.
The class runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Classes are held at Hyatt Gun’s retail store and the shooting portion is held at a private range nearby.
If you are unable to attend the class on the date you select, we will be happy to transfer your funds to another scheduled date that meets your needs. Money is not refundable and only transferable to another date.
